Remy Bumppo Feb. 27 Benefit Honors Founder James Bohnen

Remy Bumppo Theatre Company presents its ninth annual Benefit on Sunday, Feb. 27 from Noon to 3:00 p.m. at The University Club of Chicago, located at 76 East Monroe Street, Chicago. In addition to raising funds to support the organization's artistic and community programming, this year's benefit, titled "What's Past is Prologue," will serve as a farewell tribute to Founding Artistic Director James Bohnen, who is stepping down from his post in June 2011 after 14 seasons.
The 2011 Benefit Co-Chairs are Remy Bumppo Board members Nancy McDaniel (Lincoln Park) and Ann Mommsen (Winnetka). "We will extend a special invitation to James' peers, and anticipate that a number of arts leaders will join us for this farewell event to raise a glass of bubbly and toast the successes of Chicago's most thought-provoking, talk-provoking theatre, and our beloved founder James Bohnen," says Co-Chair and Founding Board President McDaniel.
The benefit features two raffles, and a live and silent auction, including dinners at some of Chicago's finest restaurants, theater and sports tickets, jewelry, art and getaways. When the silent auction closes, guests will be served a delectable luncheon created by the chefs at The University Club of Chicago. Guests will also enjoy a special tribute to James Bohnen created by Remy Bumppo's Artistic Associates and many other members of the theatre community.
James will also be presented with The Book of Transformations, an anthology of the first 14 seasons of Remy Bumppo Theatre Company under his leadership and vision. The book includes photos, stories, toasts and roasts submitted by theater colleagues, patrons and media who have been involved with the company during its founding years. The Book of Transformations will be available for sale to guests at the Benefit and later, at the theater.
