The Four Of Us

Theater Wit is excited to announce it will host Itamar Moses, one of the nation's hottest young writers and author of the company's current hit Midwest premiere of his play The Four of Us, at a post-show meet-and-greet following the 8 pm performance on Saturday, November 13. Tickets for the show and post-show catered reception are $30. Theater Wit is located at 1229 W. Belmont Avenue, in the heart of Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. If you've ever had a "frenemy" (and who hasn't?) then make time to meet The Four of Us. Moses' comedic deconstruction of how one friendship almost unravels after one friend becomes famous has received rave reviews since opening in late October. The Chicago Tribune called it "hilarious...90 minutes of humor and painful truths that really zip along...3-1/2 stars." The Chicago Sun-Times called the show "funny, perceptive [and] intriguing," New City called The Four of Us as "not to be missed," while the Chicago Reader hailed Wit's production with the spot-on pun, "Extraordinary Wit!"

Here's the plot: best friends since high school band camp, David (Usman Ally) and Benjamin (Collin Geraghty) have great artistic aspirations. But when Ben signs a seven figure movie deal for his first novel at age 24, their comfort zone abruptly disappears. David, who is struggling to kick start his own career, increasingly finds himself unable to negotiate a friendship with such dramatic inequality. What happens when professional jealousy cracks the bonds of years of camaraderie?

Don't miss this smart, funny, highly acclaimed comedy by one of the nation's hottest young playwrights, directed by Theater Wit artistic director Jeremy Wechsler. Regular performances of The Four of Us run through December 4: Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.
