Billy Connolly adds three shows at Royal George

Uncensored, uncut and unpredictable, internationally-renowned comedian/actor Billy Connolly will expose Chicago audiences to his hilarious, oxygen-depriving new show Billy Connolly Live! for three more nights! Presented by WestBeth Entertainment and Jam Theatricals, Connolly opened his show to a sold out crowd at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 North Halsted Street, on October 5 and has added three more shows to his limited run, which was originally scheduled to conclude Saturday, October 9. New performances are Thursday - Saturday, October 14-16 at 8pm.
Making a rare appearance in Chicago, for the first time in over a decade, Connolly is considered "Britain's greatest living comedian." Critics have hailed him as "a genius," "a comic legend," "brilliantly funny" and "a superstar." His comedy has been referred to as "priceless, non-stop laughter verging on tears" and "a must see night of comedy - he's fantastic, charming, rude and above all - hilarious."
"Chicago is one of my favourite cities in the world and I'm excited about returning to meet some old friends and perform in such a great theatre," said Connolly.
Best known in the United States for his starring role in the popular 1980's sitcom Head of the Class, Connolly most recently appeared in the X-Files sequel feature film X-Files: I Want To Believe and Boondock Saints II - All Saint's Day. He also stars in the upcoming film Gulliver's Travels with Jack Black and Jason Segel and has appeared on-screen with some of Hollywood's biggest stars including Dame Judi Dench in the prestigious art film Mrs. Brown, Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai, and Jim Carrey in Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Unfortunate Events.
With a global fan base, Connolly has broken box office records in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, New York and Canada and was honored on the Avenue of the Stars (the UK's version of The Hollywood Walk of Fame) alongside Sir Laurence Olivier, John Cleese and The Rolling Stones. His audiences are as diverse as his material and Chicagoans will get a unique chance to see him up close and personal at the intimate Royal George Theatre.
