& Juliet set for Return to Chicago in 2026

Fresh off its successful Chicago run that just recently closed, the hit musical & Juliet has already announced plans to return to the Windy City. The production will take the stage again at the historic Auditorium Theatre for a limited two-week engagement from July 22 to August 2, 2026, giving Chicago audiences another chance to experience this modern twist on Shakespeare's classic tale.
The Tony Award-nominated musical, which garnered nine nominations in 2023 including Best Musical, continues to captivate audiences on Broadway with its innovative reimagining of Juliet's story. The show features an impressive collection of pop hits from Grammy-winning songwriter Max Martin, including beloved songs like "Since U Been Gone," "Roar," and "Baby One More Time."
Created by the Emmy-winning "Schitt's Creek" writer David West Read, with direction by Luke Sheppard and choreography by Emmy Award winner Jennifer Weber, the production has been breaking box office records since its Broadway debut in November 2022.
The musical offers a modern twist on the classic Romeo and Juliet story, asking "what if Juliet didn't end her life over Romeo?" This contemporary romantic comedy showcases Juliet's journey beyond the famous balcony scene, set to a soundtrack of some of pop music's biggest hits from recent decades.
This return engagement promises Chicago audiences another chance to experience what Broadway crowds have been celebrating - a fresh, energetic take on one of literature's most famous heroines, proving there is indeed life after Romeo.
